Melvin is a 3rd-time venture-backed founder who has successfully built disruptive companies and products in several industries. Being a serial entrepreneur and advisor to multiple startups, Melvin founded Stellar with the goal to enable founders to start and run global companies with ease.

Before Stellar, Melvin co-founded YFind Technologies — an Indoor Positioning Technology company — that was acquired by NYSE-listed Ruckus Wireless, Inc.

Always the forward thinker who challenges status quo and looks for ways to make things better, Melvin has a proven track record of bringing new thinking and ideas to fruition. Earlier in his career as a marketing professional, Melvin used emerging ‘Web 2.0’ technologies to define new strategies and techniques in marketing and communications. He started and ran the Asia Pacific digital business unit for global communications agency — WE Communications — growing it from zero to a team of over thirty professionals, serving Fortune 500 clients, banks and Singapore government agencies.

Melvin graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication, and started out his career as an Infantry Officer with The Singapore Army. He spends his time between California and Asia, living new adventures with his beautiful wife and two kids.

Kent is a career finance partner with over two decades of experience in Fintech, e-commerce, SAAS, and healthcare industries across Asia, Australasia, and the Americas. He honed his financial expertise and business acumen at industry stalwarts such as GE, PayPal & Intuit before embarking on his passion work to build businesses that support the growth of SMEs.

Highly respected for successfully combining deep business finance and operational management experience with exceptional emotional intelligence and strong work ethic, Kent has helped start-ups at various stages of growth to reach key business milestones by revamping business operations, raising capital for growth while carefully managing liquidity, and executing exit strategies that deliver value to key stakeholders.

Kent is a CFA charter holder and has a Bachelor of Commerce degree major in Finance from The University of Auckland, New Zealand. Outside of work, Kent volunteers for causes close to his heart — climate change and youth education. Kent resides in Singapore with his wife and loves to read and travel whenever time allows.

Helen Foo

Helen is an accomplished global product and technology executive with over two decades of success in the technology industry. She has guided companies through their founding, high-growth, and post-IPO stages as a startup advisor, angel investor and executive leader.

With expertise in product strategy, management and design, as well as AI/ML, data management and analytics and fintech, Helen has led the creation of industry-transforming software products that have generated billions in revenue.

In a successful career that spans the Silicon Valley, Boston, Shanghai and Singapore, Helen played pivotal roles in building enterprises, including Akamai, an S&P 500 internet content delivery network pioneer, and a successful financial technology company with a multi-billion dollar exit — while advising and fueling growth for 30+ start-ups.

Between 2016 to 2023, Helen was an Operating Advisor at Monk’s Hill Ventures — a VC firm investing in Southeast Asian early-stage tech companies — advising founders on business, go-to-market, and product strategy, product organization, as well as funding, talent acquisition, and partnerships.

Helen holds a B.S. and M.Eng. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After having lived and worked in 10+ countries across three continents, Helen currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and two boys. She loves to spend time with family exploring various cultures around the world together.

She served in various capacities as a consultant and in-house specialist throughout her international career, building rewarding partnerships with people from all walks of life. As a lead consultant with two award-winning global public relations brands, Joanne worked closely with an extensive portfolio of C-suite clients and high-performing peers worldwide. Navigating complex corporate environments and managing multi-stakeholder relationships over two decades have sharpened her people intuition and sensitivity, allowing her to excel in developing relationship networks across cultures and geographies with people from various backgrounds.

At the core, Joanne is a human-centered, growth-oriented leader focused on bringing out the best in people, with those close to her appreciating her for being positive, nurturing, collaborative and empathetic. Joanne holds a Master of Social Science (Applied Economics) from the National University of Singapore and is trilingual in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. Based in Melbourne, Joanne enjoys discovering life through travel, reading, theatre, tennis, yoga and dance.
